Hey all!

Today, I’m going to review a product that was given to me by BBCosmetic for free in exchange for my honest opinion and review!

I’m provided with a serum from 9wishes. Whether you’ve heard of serum, ampoules, and boosters, you think they all differentiate. In all honesty, their all the same thing they are skin treatments. They all have similar functions- they’re products that you don’t really need all over your face. Serums can be used as a spot-treatment for a target area. Layering serums in Korean skin care is pretty normal since it’s said that it gives our skin a “boost.”

This was my first ever serum and I’m thrilled to use it. For someone with combination and sensitive skin, will this live up to its claims? Let’s find out…

Product Info:

Name: 9wishes Milk Advanced Whitening Treatment

Size: 1 fl. oz or 30 ml

Claims:

This serum claims to brighten skin tone and to clarify. It also mentions that it’ll restore your complexion’s ability to produce elastin and hyaluronic acid for timeless skin.

Packaging and Scent:

This serum comes in a glass bottle with a dropper. It looks elegant! The dropper works really well. I’ve used it quite a bit, but it doesn’t show on the bottle. It’s still almost full! Scent wise, I’m not really impressed. To me, it smells like spoiled milk. Maybe because of its ingredients. The combination of milk, coconut, and shea butter isn’t ideal. It’s also a bit strong during application. So I had to hold my breath while applying and waiting for it to dry. It doesn’t really happen, but my oh my, I’m not a huge fan of its scent! Such a big turn off. *sighhh*

Due to my sensitive skin, I always look for products that aren’t full of harsh chemicals. Luckily, this serum contains a lot of pure ingredients. Some of the key ingredients that I like are:

  • Milk Protein Extract – Milk is known to hydrate the skin. It also has other benefits like exfoliating mature skin, soothes irritated skin, and it lightens dark skin. It’s also known for soothing a sun burn and most importantly, it moisturizes.
  • Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid) – An interesting ingredients on skin care products. This specific ingredient is known for securing moisture and creates fullness-youthful skin.
  • Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) – This plays an important role in cellular energy production. Some of its benefits are the ability to improve the appearance of large pores, uneven skin tone, fine lines, and weakened skin surface.
  • Trehalose – Known as a sugar which is found in plants, is known for its capability to retain moisture in the skin.

During winter months, everybody is prone to getting an overly dry skin. This is why a lot of KBeauty lovers pile on the serums and add in as much moisturizer as their skin needs. There is no lie that our skin will drink anything you put on because who wants dry skin, anyway? Nobody. That being said, when warmer weather comes, we all want to limit ourselves especially those with combination skin when it comes to moisturizers. I mean, overly moisturizing your skin during warm weathers and having a combination-oily skin is not a good mix. You’ll become an oily mess and it isn’t even past noon!

Price:

This serum is currently ON SALE on BBCosmetic for $21 instead of $30. You can also use my 8% coupon- W97JCG6Y0J2.

Final Thoughts:

This serum is overly moisturizing! Perfect for those who have dry skin. As for me, I incorporate it twice a week. When I was starting to incorporate this, I didn’t pay attention to how moisturizing it is. I finally realized when I was out the entire day. I haven’t gotten really oily in a while, but when I used this continuously, I was an oily mess by noon. Not a way to go. The scent is still something you have to get used to. It’s a bit weird since it smells like milk that’s about to expire. Yuck! Though it is a nice serum to use. I’d strongly recommend this to those who have dry skin. You can use it at minimum when you have oily skin, but it’s highly moisturizing. I’ll keep incorporating this into my routine or even save it until winter comes around. For now, while the warmer weather is upon us, I think it is best for me to skip it. My skin doesn’t really need a whole lot of moisture when I, myself, am a combination skin type.

I want to give BBCosmetic a huge shoutout and a big thank you for supplying me products to review! It has been a pleasure and I look forward to definitely reviewing more products with your company!

‘Till next time,

Rein R.

  1. Great review… The spoiled milk scent did not sound appealing at all! Such a bummer. I love milk on my skin, but I guess this would never be an option… especially on my oily skin.
